Christmas shopping in November!

It’s never too early for Christmas!



Today my Mum and I had a trip to our local shopping centre.

We had a lovely day out.

We were originally just going to get some winter bedding and a blanket to go over my wheelchair, but we ended up doing the majority of our Christmas shopping.

We were looking in Primark for a nice blanket and we ended up seeing a lot of cute baby clothes.

We just had to buy them for my nephew Logan, who is nearly 2 months old.

I also saw lots of lovely items in the home department and thought they were perfect for my older sister.

We had a look in Lush, as I wanted some snow fairy shower gel. 

I decided to pick my Sisters some bath bombs and face scrubs out, as a Christmas gift.

I also had a little look in Topman and in Game, for my Dad and boyfriend.

I just loving giving presents out and Christmas time, it makes me feel so good.

I never expect anyone to buy me anything, I enjoy giving far more than receiving.

I’m pleased that I’ve pretty much done all my Christmas shopping and December will be a time to relax.

I had a very successful shopping trip.

I can no longer walk unaided! 😢

This is a tough one This is such a difficult blog to write. Today I woke up at 10:45 as normal. I can no longer walk unaided.  Yesterday I could take 8 steps before loosing my balance, now I can take none.  I stood up and tried to take a step, but I just fell. I had managed to pull myself up again using my bed (I lost the ability to do it with just my hands 2 weeks ago). So once I got up again, I tried walking again and fell again. I realised that my ability to walk unaided had just gone. I shouted of my Mum to come and help me walk to the bathroom. We were both in tears. I went downstairs on my bum, as I felt it was safer and my Mum helped me to the kitchen table. As soon as my Mum had given me my breakfast, she immediately rang my private physio. My future, is this common?

Up until recently my mobility has been pretty good. I was able to walk quite well, just on tiptoe. Even though I have always tired quite quickly when walking, I’ve always refused to use my wheelchair, unless I’ve been in pain. This is because I didn’t  want to loose my strength, my independent walking and I found wheelchairs ugly and unattractive ( I still do ). Over the past 9 months, I’ve found my mobility suffer quite a lot  to the point where I can’t walk any distance really without being in agonising pain. I’m falling every 15 to 20 steps and this is continuing to decrease. Just 2 weeks ago, I could do around 50 steps. Stairs are now almost impossible. I have always been very strict about doing all of my stretches and exercises, but my legs have just become so tight. I don’t understand why this is because I’ve always read that Cerebral Palsy is non progressive. I’m now using a wheelchair constantly, when I’m not at home. I did something new!

Painting my   own nails Due to my Cerebral Palsy, my hands are very weak and I don’t have a lot of grip. This makes grasping small objects very difficult and this often affects my independence. I have never been able to write, as pens and pencils just slip out of my hands, I can’t hold earrings, I can’t squeeze toothpaste out of the tube, zip my own zip ( the list is endless ) .  I always like to try things at least once before asking for help, even if I know I can’t usually do them because I believe  if I try enough times, I may eventually be able to do it one day. I’ve been like that since I was just 9 years old. And I have found it work sometimes. So today my Mum asked if I wanted my nails painting. I said yes, but I wanted to have a try doing them myself first. The first challenge was unscrewing the top, this took a few minutes, but i managed.  Although I found it tiring and slightly painful.  My Mum did help me cut and file my nails, I did try, but I don’t q
